Backup Internet When MAXIS Fiber Down

My MAXIS fiber broadband was down. I called MAXIS support, but was unable to resolve the issue over phone, so they scheduled a technician to come on-site (which is 1 week later). Initially I didn’t know they will provide backup internet upon request.

This is really bad, I have to survive 1 week without internet as MAXIS is not able to schedule technician to come earlier. (Lame excuse: need to wait for TM guy availability.) They never mention about backup internet. I guess this is “never ask, never tell“ kind of things. I called MAXIS support again the next day, requesting them to bring in a technician faster. Then the support officer revealed that they can provide temporary internet.

The next day MAXIS guy brought a USB dongle. Connects it to the MAXIS Wi-Fi router. It provides internet over 4G network (not 5G). Coupled with bad reception in my area. The internet connectivity is really slow and unstable.

Well, it is better then none. So if your MAXIS fiber broadband is down, you can request for temporary internet while waiting for the technician.
